Over the past 25 years or so we have lost most of our work force to retirement. Many of the people who have entered the trade over this period have learned primarily quartz repair. We are in the midst of an antique watch collecting frenzy. We are also seeing an enormous increase in the manufacturing of high grade European wristwatches. Very few watch repairers have the skill and expertise to tackle these timepieces. Jewelry stores, antique dealers etc. are crying out for skilled watch repairers but find few who qualify, those that do are much too busy to answer there pleas for help.
